About Us

On Feb 25, 2004, our beautiful 20 year old daughter, Becky, died of meningococcal meningitis. Within 48 hours of flu-like symptoms, she was gone, an otherwise healthy young adult, who would have graduated from college in June 2004.

In Jan 2005, the FDA gave its stamp of approval for a brand new vaccine (Menactra) that is longer lasting (8-10 years) and can be given to children starting at age 11. The old vaccine targeted the 18-24 year olds in college and only lasted 3-5 years.

"Since the early 1990s, outbreaks of meningococcal disease have occurred with increasing frequency in the United States", according to the CDC.

Our mission is to educate other families so no one else will go through what we have gone through and continue to go through today and for the rest of our lives!

Thank you
